Mission, Vision, Role
Our Mission:
Investing community resources to help students achieve academic and personal success.
Our Vision:
To enhance public education in the Chichester School District through private support.
Our Role:
CEF strives to direct resources to enhance opportunities for students’ academic and personal success.
Current Support Activities
The Chichester Education Foundation provides the private sector with a primary channel for giving and targets four areas for support:
- Classroom Grants – Three $1,000 to $2,500 grants are awarded each year to classroom teachers. The purpose of these grants is to fund teachers’ innovative ideas and initiatives that increase student achievement.
- Scholarships and Awards – In order to defray the cost of college, $1,000 awards are presented to deserving students. During the 2005-2006 school year $3,000 in awards were provided to graduating seniors. As part of our mission to help students achieve personal success, the number of awards and scholarships will be increased yearly as additional funding becomes available.
- Purchasing and installing new state-of-the-art equipment – (for example the new playground at the Marcus Hook Elementary School).
- Innovative Educational Programs – CEF provided the seed money to implement the 100 Book Challenge® program in our elementary schools. The program is now available at all levels.
Future Projects
- Instructional Software - Instructional software licenses are purchased to help students achieve academic success when, due to extreme circumstance, they are not able to attend classes during the regular school day.
- Purchase and install Astroturf on the Apichella Field at Chichester High School
